Digi-Rural: Bridging the Digital Divide in Oyo State

Oyo state has been growing in digitalization but many rural communities in the state remain unreached. This project will impact 100 girls in secondary schools across rural Oyo.

While cities like Ibadan are rapidly adopting technology, rural communities face limited internet access, few computer labs in schools, no exposure to digital career paths, and cultural barriers to girls in technology.
Program Structure
The Digi-Rural program runs over 8 weeks in each school:
Week 1-2: Digital Literacy Basics
- Introduction to computers and the internet
- Basic typing and file management
Week 3-4: Creative Digital Skills
- Graphic design with Canva
- Basic photo and video editing
Week 5-6: Introduction to Coding
- Scratch programming for beginners
- Building simple websites with HTML/CSS
Week 7-8: Career Exploration
- Careers in technology overview
- Mentorship matching with tech professionals
